This Soviet scientist was mortally wounded, and his fellow
researchers attempted to cryogenically preserve his genius. The process failed,
and while his body, and brain, remained perfectly preserved, the chemical
treatments failed to preserve his memories or personality. What woke up was not
the Valentin Matusevich
that ‘went under,’ and it was only through intensive cybernetic replacements
for damaged nerve pathways that they even got a reply at all. Attempting
against hope to ‘retrain’ him in hopes of stimulating theoretically ‘dormant’
memories, the project was shelved with the collapse of the Soviet bloc.
Saturated with dangerous super-chilled gases, ‘Sols’ body is a thing suspended
between life and death, cold to the touch and kept in working trim by the
cybernetics implanted within him (and powered by the radioactivity of the
internal gases themselves). He can generate vast quantities of the same
cryogenic mists that put him into suspension, to enshroud an area, shock
someone into temporary disability, or even attempint
to place them into partial suspension and slowing their brain-functions and
reaction speeds!
He can generate the mists with enough force to suspend
himself in the air, surrounded with a cocoon of lighter than air gases, and has
tweaked his internal cybernetic network to allow him to tap into and manipulate
other machinery in his immediate area.
He has abandoned the name of Valentin
Matusevich, and upon leaving
