Complication: Trip powers, Speed, Enhanced Defense,
Enhanced Feat and Enhanced Reflex save are all the result of his colorless
odorless frictionless oily coating. Some attacks (water, scouring sand, flames) can wash the coating away on an opposed check
removing all of these related powers until he can secrete a fresh coat.

Den Lebener, going under the
name, ‘the Silicon Kid’ was one of several rejects from a Freedom Legion open
recruitment drive, turned away when his hard-to-spot oily slick ended up
causing a ‘three man pile-up’ of other recruits, and quickly turned the area
around him into a Benny Hill sketch.
Unwilling to give up, he joined up with Papercut immediately, somewhat unfairly blaming some of the
others for slipping on his oily slick, as opposed to more accurately blaming
himself for getting overly excited and ‘leaking’ all over the tryout area…
Once he got over his embarrassing antics at the tryouts,
he quickly became known as the life of the group. Despite being composed of
silicon, with a literal ‘heart of stone,’ he’s quite the party animal, and
spends every free moment socializing. On his homeworld,
he’s considered intolerably upbeat and completely lacking in the proper amounts
of stoicism and patience endemic to his people, and many were relieved to hear
that he was leaving for earth, since his enthusiasm and curiosity were quite
simply exhausting to his fellow Dalacians.
Finally accepted, along with his fellow ‘Rejects,’ Den has
modified his codename to ‘Kid Silicon,’ to commemorate his new life as a
Freedom Legionnaire.
His smooth black crystalline hide is quite attractive, and
he has learned to position it for maximum affect, making the light glisten off
of his oiled surfaces just so to dazzle viewers with a play of warm colors,
seeming to burn deep within his obsidian body. His silicate-based coating is
apparently inexhaustible, but can be washed off by some attacks, requiring him
to spend a standard action ‘re-oiling’ to regain it’s
benefits.
Typically, Den (who goes exclusively by
the name ‘Kid Silicon’ now) ‘skates’ through a group of foes at high speed,
leaving behind a difficult-to-spot trail that will Trip foes. Occasionally he will put his hands directly on someone and
drench them in the oily lubricant, causing them to fall and fall again,
sometimes multiple times over several rounds! Due to his silicate construction,
he is resistant to many biological needs, and his obsidian ‘claws’ are sharp as
razors, and he is quite strong, making him a capable front-line fighter, even
without resorting to the use of his Trip attacks. Tactically, he combines his
Trip ability with the Bouncing Knockback attacks of
Leapfrog, counting on Water Witch, Stopwatch and Effigy to set to Entangling
and Snaring the fallen, with Pharmacopoeia and Papercut
occasionally assisting with ‘glue-bombs’ or grapple attacks, if necessary.
Working together, Freedom’s Rejects can send a dozen men to the floor and leave
them pinned there in bonds of ice and ‘wax’ and synthesized adhesives in a
matter of moments. Against robotic menaces, or in other situations where they
can ‘cut loose,’ out come the Penetrating lethal attacks, incendiaries, water
cannons, and other ‘big guns.’
