Brimstone is something of an 'enforcer' among his kind. They aren't common, and they don't really 'hang out' much, but there are connections between them, and sometimes, only family can step in and help family.

Unlike his half-brother Kurt (whom he's never met, but admires by reputation, for his swordsmanship and sense of style), Brimstone is not a lithe acrobat by predisposition. Sure, he can move, but he's got a whole bunch of muscle to back up his movements, and he *likes* to throw it around... He can't really teleport for crap, since he really isn't fond of the Brimstone Dimension, and in fact is pretty strongly resistant to the sorts of attacks his siblings like to use to disorient normal humans.

About the only thing his connection to the Brimstone Dimension is good for, in his opinion, is that he can 'hang himself' between this world and that, and cause the choking clouds of sulfurous smoke to pour in from the living gateway he has become. This requires intense focus on his part, but suspended between realms, he is extremely hard to even harm in this state. Once the locale has been suitably 'clouded up' for his tastes, he drops out of the half-and-half state and starts cleaving through the clouds of cinders with his swords, taking advantage of his adversaries blindness. Even someone who believes themselves out of range will be in for a surprise to learn that he can open micro-portals to conduct his blades (or his claws) to strike someone up to 25' away from his position!

Brimstone's real name is Manuel Gutierrez ('Manny,' for short, but he prefers Brimstone when he's 'working'), and he appears like a taller version of Nightcrawler, with massive muscles, a hard leather vest, wine-red skin that appears black in most lighting, glowing green eyes that look reptilian, glossy black fangs and claws on fingers and toes and a tail tipped with a glossy black wedge of bone that lashes out just as keenly as his claws. He has three fingers and a thumb on his hands, and three forward facing toes and a backwards-facing 'thumb' toe on his prehensile feet, and his posture / build is such that he can run on all fours for brief periods at surprising speeds.

*This immunity makes him immune to effects such as the Obscuring clouds of ‘brimstone’ he can generate, or being stunned, fatigued or nauseated by his siblings’ uses of Teleportation as an Attack effect, etc. A Blast based on calling up high-pressure jets of water from the ocean’s depths would affect him normally, even if one of his kin was using a Dimensional portal to warp it to the present location. One using a Blast based on hitting him with the corrosive medium of the Brimstone Dimension itself would fail to damage/blind/suffocate/nauseate or otherwise affect him. (Note that his Environmental Adaptation Feat only provides him immunity to the *normal* environmental conditions of the Brimstone Dimension. Attack effects, such as Nightcrawler’s linked Teleport/Stun combination, are not ‘normal’ conditions. Of course, some siblings have developed offensive uses of teleportation that mimic Corrosion, for example, that this immunity wouldn’t help against in the slightest. It would protect him against corrosive mists from the Brimstone Dimension, but not against being molecularly ‘teleported apart.’)

**Brimstone has learned how to create ‘micro-portals’ around his limbs, or along the length of his blades, to conduct the striking force to a foe standing several yards away. Essentially, the blade (or limb) vanishes at his location at the moment of impact, and appears for a split-second at the chosen location, striking and fading away in a moment’s time.

#Brimstone spends a Full Action activating his power, becoming a living portal to the Brimstone Dimension, and becoming Insubstantial in the process, as an ever-expanding cloud of hot choking sulfurous gaseous matter from the Brimstone Dimension flows into his surroundings. While maintaining this, he must devote Concentration and Full Actions to ‘holding the door’ and can only make 5’ steps. Each round, the cloud of reeking smoke and cinders fills an expanding area, growing by 1 rank / round, up to 100’ radius after the fifth Full Action of Concentration. At this point, he usually relaxes Concentration and goes into combat, obscured within his cloud of brimstone, losing the advantages of Insubstantial, but being able to move around freely, with both vision and scent unhindered (thanks to his Immunity). The ‘door’ remains in a ‘halfway open’ state while he moves around, as a Sustained effect, and if he is Stunned, knocked Unconscious or otherwise rendered unable to expend a Free Action each round maintaining the Obscure effect, it immediately is sucked back into the portal with a rush of displaced air, and he will have to summon it forth again gradually if he wants to regain the advantage of its Concealment. Because the Obscure effect emanates from his person, it has a range of Touch, and if he leaves the area of effect, he is assumed to have gotten ‘too far away’ to maintain the portal, and it closes as if he had ceased maintaining it immediately.

[Note that the powers based purely on his anatomy, his Additional Limbs, Super-Senses, Strike, Leaping, Speed and Immunities are Innate and cannot be Drained or Nullified. His Concealment ability is a side-effect of his peoples Dimensional Movement / Teleportation powers, with micro-portals whisking away light striking their skin surface (often creating the illusion that they are ‘dark-skinned’ and ‘fuzzy-looking’ under better lighting conditions, with the effect exacerbated by the fact that most are dark-skinned and many are even ‘fuzzy’). Similarly, the racial ‘Wall-Clinging’ ability is also an effect of these micro-portals, creating a form of coriolis force that allows them to ‘stick’ to surfaces through a magnified form of surface tension (and also gives many ‘sticky fingers’ for purposes of snatching items or grappling foes).

Equipment: 2 swords (+3 Slashing damage, 19-20 Crit), hard leather vest, bracers and ‘chaps’ (+2 toughness bonus), cloth trenchcoat (he can’t afford a cool leather one), mittens, floppy hat, doo-rag, bandana, etc. (to help disguise features)

Drawbacks:
Noticeable – Super-Senses (pointy ears, glowing golden / green eyes with a reptilian slit) [-1]
Noticeable – Additional Limbs (feet visibly deformed, with a ‘thumb’ on the back of the foot, four foot long tail ending with a spike of bone) [-1]
Noticeable – Strike (fangs, thick (but not particularly sharp) claws at end of fingers and toes and a bony spike at end of tail, all glossy black in color) [-1]
Noticeable – Speed / Leaping (uses arms and legs when ‘running’ full out, ‘knuckle-walking’ like an ape, similarly sinks to all fours and ‘pounces’ when leaping) [-1]
Noticeable – Immunity (skin is dark wine-red in color, but appears black with reddish highlights in dim lighting, he is also hot to the touch, as if running a perpetual fever, and his skin feels sleek like glass. He smells sulfurous.) [-1]
