Drawbacks:
Noticeable -1 (Additional Limb, obvious meter-long
prehensile tail with a glistening razor edge, and long-toed feet with a ‘thumb’
toe sticking out the back)
Noticeable -1 (Strike, his fangs tusk-like, and make his
speech come out slurred, and his ram-like horns are quite noticeable)
Noticeable -1 (Immunity, his skin is a glossy hairless
black, like polished obsidian, and is surprisingly cold to the touch)
Noticeable -1 (Super-Senses, his eyes are large, bulging
and a solid warm amber, looking more like gemstones set into his ‘obsidian’
body than living tissue)
Noticeable -1 (Leaping / Speed, his posture is warped into
a perpetual crouch, and he often has at least one hand splayed on the ground,
almost never standing erect, which is quite uncomfortable for him (and even
more so when he’s tied to a stake and there’s stuff burning all around him, but
that’s another story…))
Abilities 20 + Attack / Def 12 + Saves 3 + Skills 19 +
Feats 24 + Powers 72 – Drawbacks 5 = 145
The Night Brood who calls himself Flame, is mockingly
called ‘Twitch’ by those who know him, since he’s jumpy to the point of
caricature, and profoundly paranoid, trying to remain in hiding at all times,
and cowering when confronted.
He’s more skilled (and versatile) at teleportation and
dimensional travel than many of his kin, and is often sought out as a guide and
‘ferryman’ to an unusual locale, when he can be found at all, that is. He’s
completely terrified of just about everything, particularly human prejudice,
and he has escaped mobs at the last second on more than one occasion, as his
demonic nature, combined with the acts of thievery he commits to survive, have
made him few friends.
As a result of having been rescued from one such instance
by agents of Lord Ash (he was about to be burned at the stake, having been
found sleeping in a barn by some good-old boys and beaten into unconsciousness
before he could wake up and teleport to safety), ‘Flame’ is somewhat more
trusting of his ‘extended family,’ and it was Flame who unthinkingly spilled
the beans about Brimstone and Serpentines ‘relationship.’ (Brimstone has been
crashing in her apartment. It’s not much of a relationship, but Lord Ash
doesn’t know that, and wouldn’t take the chance of one developing in any
event…)
As a result of his hopping through often hostile
dimensional realms, Flame has developed a unique offensive attack, pulling
strange swirling orbs of fire from the Brimstone Dimension that seem almost
*alive.* These quasi-living constructs of energy appear at a position of
Flame’s choosing, usually *behind* his foes, and sweep towards the designated
target, and if they miss the initial run, they swoop around to try again before
dissipating! If they strike a foe, the burns they leave are powerful and
mystically corrosive, both physically and spiritually, resisting attempts to
heal the damage done.
Thanks to his versatile training and years of paranoia,
Flame has developed the ability to Teleport as a Reaction, albeit only 200
feet, and has a frustrating knack for moving around the battlefield (or just
abandoning it altogether!) when it's 'not his turn.'
Flame is well versed in matters arcane, and his ‘Brimstone
Blasts’ are a unique combination of his natural teleportive
abilities, and his knack for sorcerous innovation.
Along with his skills as guide and ‘ferryman,’ Flame is often the go-to guy for
arcane lore, and he has been known to craft various baked clay faences and foul draughts to use himself, or pass on to friends.
As he lacks the Artisan feat, these magical talismans and
elixirs have no game effect.
