Lord Ash claims to be the first and best-loved son of Azazel, thousands of years old, and maintains a palatial domain in the Brimstone Dimension itself, served by at least a dozen other Children of Azazel. It is known that he serves Azazel directly, and the proclamations of his enforcers is treated as the direct will of Azazel (even if this is rarely, if ever, the case).

In truth, Lord Ash is only 250 years old, the son of two Children of Azazel, named Pyre and Crimson, who violated an ages-old taboo forbidding Children of Azazel from mating with each other. Naming their grey-furred child ‘Ash,’ the couple soon discovered that their child had special gifts, even for a Child of Azazel. Azazel’s gifts breed true, being far dominant over their human blood, and Ash succumbed to the will of his ‘grandfather’ and slew his own parents for violating the taboo, setting himself up as the new enforcer of his lord’s decrees, and assembling the Children for the inevitable time when they would gather to free their father.

As arbiter of law among his kind, and enforcer of what few laws and traditions govern the Children, Lord Ash will soon have to send his soldiers to address rumors that Serpentine and Brimstone have begun some sort of relationship. First, will be the seductive [b] Satin, [/b] called by some ‘the Succubus,’ with an intoxicating musk of pheremones that make men her playthings, only to find themselves enslaved by the addictive venom in her kiss. If she fails to tear Brimstone away from his forbidden dalliance, arms-men will be sent to drag Serpentine away by force, confining her to the Brimstone Dimension entirely.

If his arms-men fail to return, he might feel put upon to make a rare and hated appearance on the earthly plane, to deal with things personally, with his unique ability to draw inflict an unstable teleportive effect onto anyone touched, or even a person or item at range (with reduced strength), causing them to be torn apart, their essence scattered equally across the Brimstone Dimension and the surface of the Earth, disintegrating them utterly!

Ash neither knows nor cares why such things are forbidden, he only knows that he will countenance no competition for his status, no other Children with power such as his. Azazel himself lies trapped in the maelstrom at the center of the Brimstone Dimension, which means that for now, and possibly centuries to come, none but he shall sit the Smouldering Throne.
