No one knows the name of Jennifer Riley, except for her parents, and anyone who for some reason remembers seeing her face on a milk bottle ten years ago, when she vanished into the big city. Unlike many of her kin, Jen looked human until puberty, and when the changes hit, she was already a runaway, living on the streets, and doing something that should have killed her. Instead, she changed.

Her new abilities came with a new attitude, one that was hard as nails, and sleeker than the scales that now decorated her once-again-flawless skin. She found her way into an exclusive underground club that dealt with metahuman and mutant 'exotic entertainment.' It was primarily a fight club, but there was definitely work for a lithe young thing with a beguiling appearance who could *move.* And could she ever *move!*

No one touches Serpentine. Everybody knows that's the fastest way to find a knife planted in a carefully-chosen non-fatal area. She dances, sinuous like a snake, with inhuman grace, and her clothing changes in a smoky flash of mutant power, including props like riding crops, or her ubiquitous collection of sharp pointy things. She takes her money and she leaves, vanishing into the night, or sometimes even just vanishing in a puff of smoke from the changing rooms, depending on her mood. No one knows where she lives, and the one time someone gave her grief, a spurned former patron she saw on the street, who wanted 'more for his money' she demonstrated the ability to snatch a bullet out of the air and send it flying back into his leg.

No one screws with Serpentine now, and bizarrely, her popularity has only increased, as her intoxicated underworld clientele find it 'hardcore' to flirt with such a dangerous woman.

She's managed to master several tricks combining her teleportive skills with her fascination with knives, including the ability to strike someone from behind, while facing them, to 'phase' her blades through armor to strike at vital organs, etc. but she's really not a fighter, she just wants to dance, and get paid, and be left alone, and her ability to open a split-second teleportation portal in front of an incoming attack and send it back in a direction of her choosing is more dangerous than her knife-tricks.

Serpentine has glossy scales, patterned in a mixture of black and dark forest green. Her skin is cool and 'bumpy' to the touch, and her meter-long tail splits into two near the end. She lacks the fangs and claws (and sometimes horns and weapon-edged tails) common to her kin, and so 'makes up for it' with knives. Her eyes are a bright scarlet red, solid throughout, with no sign of iris or pupil, and she has long black hair, which she wears in thin cornrows that flow down to her knees, sometimes giving her a medusa-like appearance, as they writhe around her gyrating form. She often decorates these braids with beads of jade or jet, spaced so that they do not clatter together, as the sound gets on her nerves when she's dancing.
