‘Brian Douglas Mason’ is a lean dark haired man with a casual air about him and an infectious grin. He’s also a consummate liar and con-artist, who, to the horror of all who know him, talks up his ambitions to get into law school, and eventually enter politics... He shrugs off attempts to read his mind, or otherwise affect him with superhuman powers, skipping free of Snares, and laughing off Blasts of destructive force, and can even focus this talent to walk through a power field, or ‘turn off’ a construct given motion by the Animation power.

In the brief time he’s been active, attempts to ascertain the truth behind his claims to be the son of the ‘original’ Lady Liberty, Donna Mason, have raised more questions than they have answered. The current Lady Liberty has said that she senses something like a kindred spirit within him, although based on his attitude and actions, he seems more like a free-wheeling spirit of chaos and trickery... Snagging a hair sample left behind, Daedalus has found that he is genetically identical to Jake Walker, the supervillain known as Wild Card. And yet, he doesn’t actually *look* that much like Jake Walker (having black hair for instance, like his purported mother), and is clearly years younger. Adding to the mystery is his chance encounters with kids his age who seem to recognize him, calling him names ranging from Jacob to Brian to Seth. He wears loose-fitting blue jeans, white high-top sneakers (usually hanging open, leading others to speculate on if he also has the mutant power to not trip over his own dangling laces…) and a red T-shirt. Other than the red, white and blue motif, he makes no effort to look ‘super-heroic’ and combines this outfit with a blue jean jacket when it’s cooler outside, and sleek black shades whenever the sun’s up, although he pushes them up into his unruly mop of black hair to reveal bright blue mocking eyes and a mischievous half-grin indoors.

He has only once responded seriously to a question, and that was from the current Lady Liberty, who asked about the whereabouts of his mother. He put his sunglasses back on and looked away, saying softly, “Don’t you think she’s earned her freedom? If she wanted to be found, you’d know where to find her.”
