Miss Bertrand is cold as ice inside, but puts on a good front of being friendly and not overly bright. She was there at the beginning as a mere child, accompanying her mother to work occasionally and deciding that working in an office and making all these big decisions was what she wanted to do when she grew up. She tested marginal for Psi and signed up for experimental techniques designed to see if she could awaken her Latent potential, but her exposure to the Prometheus chamber in her early teens was not enough to activate any significant talent and she resigned herself to never be a full Psion, only a wannabe. This left her somewhat bitter and lost as she had pinned all of her hopes on being a full Electrokinetic member of Orgotek and knew now that she would be relegated to what she saw as the less valued and less glamorous 'mundane' day to day work. She threw herself into law school, still driven to exceed her mothers position within the company as an accountant, and performed quite well, making it into WEI after graduation as almost a formality.

She met and fell in love with Kulu just as she was pondering switching to Operations, her disappointment at not being a full Psion had turned into a form of Psion worship and it wasn't until she was truly head over heels that he took her home to meet his *wife* and things got weird...
