Name: Siggismund Auerbach

Nature: Penitent?

Allegiance: Orgotek

Visual:

Notes: Siggy is a 'generic character.' His origin and backstory would work equally well (or even better!) as a Clear, or to a lesser extent as a Psych, Doc, Minister, Norca or Neutral with the same goals and motivations, using his Order's resources (or his natural skills and Aeon resources, if a Neutral) to assist in his obsession with finding his missing daughter. Why she is apparently consciously avoiding him is left open as a plot-hook... I've even played him as a man-dragon hybrid in Aberrant!

Once a mild-mannered teacher of computer security, 'Siggy' is a man with a mission.  Five years ago his wife and daughter were visiting relatives in Rouen when the Esperanza impacted Paris.  He spent the next two years and considerable resources to find that his wife had in fact perished in a field hospital of radiation illness.  He then found out that his daughter had been seen in the area by medtechs from Orgotek, by the expediment of tapping into their secure records of medical testing for Taint related effects on survivors in the area.  It was in this way that Orgotek found him in return, as their security was better than he had anticipated.

The Psion who 'captured' him was more than willing to help once he knew what was going on (he had already checked himself, Auerbach hadn't accessed anything other than his records of DNA prints matching his daughters) and after doing a 'routine' medical test of his own 'to make sure that he wasn't lying' explained to him that as a powerful Latent, he had far more resources at his disposal than he had ever imagined before...  He thought about it for a few days and decided that the ability to hack any system by thought alone was the sort of skill that could help him find his daughter.  Alone, short on funds, backed into a corner with the trail growing ever colder, Siggismund Auerbach became a Psion.

It was 11 months later that his custom Agent found a picture matching hers from concert footage of a crowd in Funan in its relentless 24/7 netbrowsing.  He was on the next shuttle, having already sold the family home on Luna to pay for his research.  He lived now in austere Orgotek quarters, having not even bothered to do more than download the holos and have shipped a few mementos (at great cost) of his family to remember them by.

His management at Tekne were not thrilled but accepted his transfer to the tiny Tekne division in the 'anima cities' (a domain pretty much dominated by Orgosoft Farms divisions) and he now scours the city in his off time trying to find his daughter.  He still handles corporate information security concerns, not only for Orgotek, but more profitably, for local companies hiring Orgotek expertise for their own data protection.

Siggismund is a large man, tall and imposing (and balding, but for a fringe of hair which has turned white in recent years).  He is 6' 4", weighs 230 lbs and used to be blonde, a reminder of his Swiss heritage (although he himself grew up on Luna).  He dresses in conservative old style suits and usually appears more like a lawyer or financier than a 'hacker' or Orgotek yuppy, but then again he is 45 and doesn't really like the playfully self-interested backstabbing that goes on amongst his workmates, preferring the stability of the Docs he worked with as a volunteer in France (while he pillaged their records to find his family) or the ISRAns he met and occasionally worked with on Luna in matters of computer crime.
